Tim Garcia
DJ, Broadcaster, Label Owner
Tim Garcia is a London-born DJ, broadcaster, record label owner and music curator whose work sits at the intersection of global sounds, electronic music, and jazz-rooted musical heritage. A storyteller at heart, Tim is driven by a fascination with the connection between music and memory — using music as a portal into the lived experiences, histories and identities of artists and communities.
His broadcasting career includes a five-year weekly residency on Jazz FM, followed by a show on Worldwide FM, and now a weekly Monday morning residency on Rinse FM. Across these platforms, Tim has built a loyal and highly engaged following, amassing over 128,000 followers on Instagram through his curation, knowledge-sharing and the platforming of emerging artists and guests from his radio shows.
As founder of Musica Macondo records, Tim has released music from across Latin America, Africa, North America and Europe — working with Grammy-nominated musicians and pioneering electronic producers including Yelfris Valdes, Quantic, K15 and Osunlade. Beyond traditional releases, the label is developing fully circular music projects, most notably Davorio in Ivory Coast, which uses music-making as a means to build community assets, empower local musicians and create sustainable cultural infrastructure.
