(Jamz Supernova - BBC Radio 1Xtra) "He's what you would call a piano virtuoso"

Born and raised in the U.K. and based in London pianist/composer Dominic J Marshall proved with his first two recordings to be a prodigious and precocious talent. On Spirit Speech, Marshall's trio, with bassist Tobias Nijboer and drummer Jamie Peet, evades categorization, surging enigmatically through jazz, classical, hip-hop, soul, folk and everything in between, into a realm of expression that is uncompromisingly their own. The album was ‘an excellent, imaginative and distinctive album that repays repeated listens’ (LondonJazzNews) and led him to be unanimously selected by Jamie Cullum, Gilles Peterson and Jez Nelson to perform at BBC Introducing & Manchester Jazz Festival that year.

In 2015 Dominic became the pianist for British nu-jazz group The Cinematic Orchestra, with whom he has performed all over the world including at Montreux Jazz Festival, Glastonbury Festival, Tokyo SummerSonic, Brixton Academy, Royal Festival Hall and LA’s Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Meadowsweet is his latest creation, fusing influences from Bill Evans to Aphex Twin to Steve Lacy to Debussy.
