Haseeb Iqbal is a DJ, writer and broadcaster from north London. His work explores music, history and stories from around the globe. His radio documentaries on Worldwide FM and his own independent radio platform, haseebiqbal.world, have amassed a cult following for their in-depth research and emotive analysis, whilst his DJ sets have been celebrated for their eclectic brilliance. His monthly club residency Studio Crumb is currently one of the staples of the London club scene, drawing in a diverse and devoted audience, whilst the club night itself has recently been listed by Time Out Magazine as one of the best in the capital.

A multi-faceted performer with an enthusiastic edge, Haseeb's recent residencies at the Tate Modern and 180 Studios have brought a focus towards engagement as he impressively uses his background in radio to weave the worlds of music and art together, probing a deeper level of focus towards the context of the culture.He currently hosts a weekly residency at the Tate Modern entitled Beats and Boards and has just completed a month-long residency at 180 Studios, hosting 12 sold-out listening sessions on the impeccably sensitive and beautifully rich OJAS sound-system crafted by Devon Turnbull. He explored the history and sound of four themes: Blue Note Records, Jah Shaka, Pakistani Cinema Vinyl and Songs of Healing and Resistance. Each edition was an opportunity for Haseeb to explore and share stories that are often forgotten and underrepresented; stories that can teach us about the world that we live in and the communities whom we live alongside. Marrying theatre, soundsystem culture and storytelling together, this residency has deepened Haseeb’s appetite for cultural spaces that are rooted in a focus and engagement. It is the collective consciousness that creates the powerful feelings that can help heal us, he believes. We must give our focus and engagement to art in order to feel these things. Whether that is in the theatre or on the dancefloor of a club. These spaces have the capacity to transform the way that we feel and that is what excites and enthrals Haseeb the most. .
