For much of the last decade, Marie Dahlstrom has occupied a singular position within contemporary R&B. The Roskilde-born, London-based singer, songwriter and producer has built a widely respected catalogue without ever seeming particularly interested in the noise surrounding it.
Rooted in neo-soul, jazz and understated grooves, her music has earned recognition from Billboard, NPR, Complex, COLORS, NYLON, Wonderland, The Line Of Best Fit and TRENCH, while collaborations with Odeal, Jay Prince, Kofi Stone and Braxton Cook have cemented her place within a wider international community of contemporary soul and jazz musicians.
Her third album, MARIE, arrives at a moment when life has become fuller, busier and infinitely more complex. In the years since her earliest releases, Dahlstrom has become a mother of two, living between cultures, countries and communities.
That sense of existing between places extends beyond the songs themselves. Following the release of MARIE on 18th September, Dahlstrom will return to two cities that sit at the heart of her story, with headline shows at London's The Lower Third and Copenhagen's Rust in October.
