Up and coming flautist Poppy Helmer is a student at Trinity Laban where she has had the opportunity to study under the likes of Tony Kofi and Julian Siegel.
Her band is comprised of musicians she has met through her studies and at jazz development programme Tomorrow’s Warriors. She plays original compositions inspired by the experience of growing up in a big family in Brighton where creativity and eccentricity is highly encouraged. Her biggest influences are Eric Dolphy, Wayne Shorter, and Thelonious Monk.
