Mentoring Sessions with Women in Jazz

Thursday 23rd April • 17:00-18:00 • The El Rayo Stage @ Juju’s, Ely’s Yard, E1 6QR

These structured mentoring sessions, hosted by Women in Jazz, offer focused, one-to-one conversations in a speed-networking format. Participants will engage in 15-minute sessions across two 60-minute rounds, with a 30-minute break between.

Designed to provide practical guidance and professional insight, the sessions connect emerging and developing artists with experienced practitioners from across the music ecosystem. Conversations may touch on touring, funding, creative development, industry navigation or long-term career planning — depending on participants’ needs.

By creating a time-bound but intentional framework, the format encourages direct knowledge exchange while remaining accessible and dynamic. The sessions reflect Women in Jazz’s ongoing commitment to tangible support structures — fostering mentorship, access and professional development within the wider music community.

Mentors:

  • Alison Farmery - Help Musicians

  • Fred Bolza - Founder of Jazz label, New Soil

  • Alexandria Carr - Contemporary Music Programmer, Southbank

  • Naomi Palmer - Head of Earth Agency

  • Lou Paley - Direct & Founder, Women In Jazz
